SUMMARY:

This position maintains the outdoor cleanliness of Colonial Williamsburg Facilities to help ensure a safe and attractive recreation environment for customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Will operate town vehicles as needed to pickup litter along Colonial Williamsburg Attraction property. The Litter Tech will develop a regular route that includes all roadways on campus on a weekly basis, but will be prepared to react and be directed to provide attention to areas that require pickup.
• Empties trashcans located at recreational properties on a regular basis.
• Transports litter and bulk waste collected to appropriate dumpsters.
• Exercise care and safety in the use of any town-owned vehicles, equipment, and/or tools required to complete assigned tasks.
• Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as co-workers, customers, and the general public.
• Performs similar or related work as required..

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Requires a Valid Driver’s License and an ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Check.
• Attention to detail and the ability and initiative to complete a job thoroughly is required.
• General maintenance experience is a positive skill set that can be helpful in this position.
• Good interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively and respectfully with other staff, customers and/ or visitors.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening test.

Minimum Education:

High school degree preferred, but not required.

Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push and pull.
The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Extensive walking and standing for the duration of the shift.
Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks with production and service time frames as established by the company.
Ability to work with various temperatures extreme from hot to cold.
