Job Skills / Requirements

Grounds Lead:

SUMMARY: Maintain the grounds including fleet (mowers, UTV’s, etc.)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

The primary responsibility of the Grounds Lead is to direct daily maintenance related to the landscaping maintenance including but not limited to flower beds and trees. Maintain groundskeeping equipment.

Essential aspects of this position include:

· Performs routine, frequent ground inspections.

· Plans and monitors preventive maintenance program for all grounds related equipment.

· Upkeep of all irritation systems, irrigation controllers, sprinkler timers.

· Ability to operate motor vehicles, lift/move equipment, materials, supplies, and tools; wear protective clothing as required by client and company.

· Keep a daily log to notate issues and progress during the year.

· Keep all logs up to date.

· Practice safety training daily.

· Maintain log of all Pesticide areas needed to be sprayed and maintained.

· Required to maintain the cleanness of outside grounds to client’s specification.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

2 years of experience in performing groundskeeping/landscaping maintenance. 2 years of experience in working with irrigation systems, irrigation controllers, sprinkler timers and 2 years of experience working as a general cleaner or custodian. Pesticide technician holding a current license preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to conduct detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

A valid state driver's license.

A current Pesticide License (preferred)

Must have knowledge of working on and with Irrigation systems such as Rain Bird included but not limited to broken sprinklers to replacing sprinklers. Finding solutions to irrigation issues.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works outside grounds cleaning picking up any trash or Bio waste, while maintaining all landscaping duties including but not limited to pesticide spraying during designated seasons. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
