Distribution Center Security

Experienced officers who have worked at a distribution center are strongly preferred. Experience with access control, checking trucks in and out, gate operations, and site monitoring is highly desired.

Requirements

• Must possess an active Maryland State Police Guard Card
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Must have reliable transportation (public transportation will not be considered)
• Must possess a working cell phone for communication with Operations Supervisors
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check with no felony arrests or convictions
• Must be able to perform duties outlined in post orders, including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting
• Must be familiar with mobile technology, including tablets and smartphones
• Must possess a valid driver's license

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply:

• Distribution center security operations
• Access control and visitor management
• Truck check-in and check-out procedures
• Gatehouse operations
• Cargo and trailer inspections
• Site surveillance and monitoring
• Incident reporting and documentation

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a detailed daily activity log during assigned shifts
• Complete accurate and thorough incident reports
• Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the facility
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry and exit of personnel and vehicles
• Check trucks in and out according to site procedures
• Enforce client policies and security protocols in a professional and courteous manner
• Report for duty on time and in proper uniform
• Communicate effectively with drivers, employees, visitors, and management
• Utilize active listening and strong observation skills
• Assess emergency situations and respond appropriately
• Identify, report, and document security concerns and critical incidents promptly
