Location: Country Club Hills, IL
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–3:30 PM

St. Moritz Security Services is hiring a professional and dependable School Security Officer for a school location in Country Club Hills, IL.
Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday daytime schedule with weekends and holidays off! This full-time position works exclusively during regular weekday hours, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. There are no weekend shifts, no holiday shifts, and no school event assignments.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible security presence to promote a safe, secure, and orderly school environment.
- Conduct regular patrols of school buildings, hallways, stairwells, grounds, and other designated areas during scheduled weekday hours.
- Secure exterior doors and monitor access to school facilities.
- Staff designated school entrances and follow established visitor management procedures.
- Greet visitors, provide directions, and help ensure compliance with school security procedures.
- Monitor and operate security camera systems and other security technology.
- Conduct visitor and student screening using metal detectors or other weapons detection systems when required.
- Utilize a tour-of-duty system to document inspections and security checks.
- Respond professionally to staff concerns, security incidents, and emergencies.
- Escort students when necessary and assist school staff in maintaining order.
- Immediately report security breaches, suspicious activity, incidents, and safety concerns to the Principal and Supervisor.
- Follow established post orders, school procedures, and instructions from school administration and SMSSI management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in school security, public safety, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a courteous, professional demeanor.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Dependable, attentive, and committed to maintaining a safe school environment.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Illinois Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
- Completion of a 20-hour security training course.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of required drug screening and background check.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform regular patrols throughout the scheduled shift.
- Physical capability to respond effectively during emergencies and meet the demands of the position.
