Area Manager – Security Operations Management | Southern Illinois
We are looking for a driven, experienced professional to join our team as an Area Manager in Southern Illinois.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the field, building strong client relationships, leading security teams, and helping grow the business. You will have direct responsibility for the day-to-day operations of assigned security accounts while working closely with our sales team to identify and develop new business opportunities.
What You'll Do
Lead Operations
- Take ownership of day-to-day security operations throughout your assigned territory.
- Lead and support security supervisors, officers, and other field personnel.
- Ensure client expectations, contractual requirements, company standards, and applicable regulations are consistently met.
- Conduct weekly visits with clients to evaluate service, address concerns, strengthen relationships, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor staffing, attendance, performance, training, certifications, incidents, safety, and other operational requirements.
- Ensure post orders, procedures, equipment, and staffing levels are appropriate for each client location.
- Maintain strong communication with leadership regarding operational performance, staffing, client satisfaction, and emerging issues.
- Oversee accurate payroll, billing, contract documentation, rate changes, and revenue recognition.
Build Your Team
You will play a hands-on role in building a strong security team, including:
- Recruiting qualified security officers.
- Interviewing candidates and participating in selection decisions.
- Coordinating hiring and onboarding.
- Ensuring new officers receive required orientation, training, certifications, and site-specific instruction.
- Supporting employee development, performance, retention, and accountability.
- Proactively addressing staffing needs and vacancies.
Help Grow the Business
This isn't simply an operations position. We want someone who can see opportunities and help us grow.
- Identify and provide qualified leads for new security business to the sales department.
- Build relationships with prospective clients and local business leaders.
- Recognize opportunities for expanded services and additional business with existing clients.
- Participate in prospect meetings, site visits, presentations, proposals, and business-development activities.
- Work with sales leadership to develop security solutions based on client needs.
- Represent the company professionally throughout the Southern Illinois business community.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who brings a combination of experience, leadership ability, customer-service skills, and business sense.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing contract staffing operations, multiple client accounts, or a security branch/territory.
- Strong understanding of security staffing, scheduling, training, compliance, and client management.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate security personnel.
- Experience recruiting, interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and developing employees.
- Ability to identify business-development opportunities and generate leads.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid driver's license & reliable transportation.
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to travel throughout Southern Illinois.
