Job Skills / Requirements
Alliance Building Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foreman to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory skills and a thorough understanding of maintenance operations within a unionized environment. This role requires excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of maintenance staff.
- Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely completion.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Prepare and submit detailed reports on maintenance activities and staff performance.
- Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repair work.
- Implement and enforce progressive discipline procedures in accordance with union guidelines.
- Train and mentor new and existing maintenance staff.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and clients via email and other channels.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are documented accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and address any maintenance-related issues.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Foreman or similar supervisory role in a maintenance environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, equipment, and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in using email, preparing reports, and managing work orders.
- Ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify potential issues.
- Experience with scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with progressive discipline procedures within a unionized workforce.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
