Individual need to provide general care, handling and cleaning for stray and adoptable animals. Duties include: enforcement of all state laws and local ordinances pertaining to domestic animals; greeting and assisting the public; receiving and resolving complaints; picking up stray and unwanted animals; responding to emergency calls: assisting with possible cruelty and abandonment investigations. Individual selected will also perform some kennel work, complete general office duties, assist with adoptions, return animals to owners, assist in cleaning and maintaining shelter and grounds, assist in euthanasia, and maintain all related records and paperwork. Position may include some night, weekend, and holiday work.
Position requires graduation from high school or GED, a background check and a valid driver’s license are required. Preference will be given to applicants with prior volunteer or work-related experience with animals. Must live in Scott County or within close proximity be able to respond to emergency calls within 30 minutes.
