Job Skills / Requirements

  Inner Parish Security Corporation is growing and looking to add to our financial accounting team.  We are seeking a full-time Accountant to join our multi-generational, family-owned business that has provided security related services  since 1977.  We currently employ people all over the country as we continue to expand.

This position will be responsible for ensuring accurate presentation of financial reporting by providing accounting support and preparation of complex journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis with a focus on Accounts Payable.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of GAAP, account reconciliation, strong computer skills (high level competency in Excel), and ability to hit deadlines.

This is a full-time position with a pay rate of $45,000 - $55,000 per year.  IPSC pays weekly on Thursdays.

 

The Duties and Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

·       Review Accounts Payable prepared for payment ensuring proper supporting documentation and approvals

·       Monthly bank account reconciliations

·       Monthly Corporate Credit Card Statement review and posting

·       Track Capital Expenses and Fixed Assets

·       State payroll tax and Workers Comp accounts set-up

·       Assist in month-end closing activities: Balance Sheet account reconciliations, accrual posting, closing entries

 

The successful candidate will possess:

·       A solid knowledge of accounting principles and procedures acquired through experience or classwork

·       Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, etc.), Microsoft Word and Outlook along with ability to learn new software applications

·       Excellent verbal and written communications skills

·       Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

·       Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
