Position Summary

ServiceMaster Elite Clean is seeking a dependable and motivated EVS Specialist to join our Environmental Services team in Baton Rouge. This daytime position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout assigned areas of the healthcare facility, including medical office buildings, inpatient units, and public spaces within the main hospital. The EVS Specialist plays a key role in supporting patient care by ensuring all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained according to healthcare standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize assigned areas, including medical office buildings, inpatient floors, patient rooms, waiting areas, lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other public spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect floors, furniture, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces.
• Empty trash, recycling, and regulated waste containers in accordance with facility policies.
• Clean and restock restrooms and replenish paper products, soap, hand sanitizer, and other supplies.
• Clean patient discharge rooms and prepare them for new admissions as assigned.
• Maintain the cleanliness of entrances, elevators, stairwells, break rooms, and common areas.
• Follow all infection prevention, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Properly operate and maintain cleaning equipment and use chemicals according to manufacturer and facility standards.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to the supervisor.
• Respond promptly to cleaning requests and maintain assigned work areas throughout the shift.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a positive attitude while interacting with patients, visitors, hospital staff, and fellow team members.
• Complete all assigned duties accurately, efficiently, and within established quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous environmental services, housekeeping, janitorial, or healthcare cleaning experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent service.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 30 pounds throughout the workday.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and comply with healthcare safety standards.
