Job Skills / Requirements

The Security Chief/Manager supervises officers in the performance of their duties and performs the following duties: Assist in the hiring, assigning and training of all personnel. This position will handle scheduling and perform evaluations of all subordinate employees. They will assist in writing and updating job descriptions as necessary. Has overall responsibility for the protection of life and property of all persons on Hospital premises and ensures that the security team patrols Hospital buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft and vandalism. The Hospital Security Chief/Manager works independently in accordance with the established procedures, under general supervision.

Performs administrative and operational support functions to include, but not limited to:

Direct supervision all Hospital Security Officers.
Assist with scheduling, attendance, and termination of Officers.
Training of Officers as outlined in the Orientation Checklist, and as prescribed by Eagle Systems, Inc.
Weekly Evaluations (12 weeks) of all new hires.
90 Day Officer Evaluation of Officers.
Yearly Evaluations of all Officers on his/her shift.
Produce Daily/Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly reports.
Present briefings to staff managers and directors.
Provide security awareness training to all hospital staff.
Perform liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement, corrections, fire and security agencies.
Participate in safety and security related meetings, briefings, seminars, inspection and exercises.
Working knowledge of MCMs infant abduction systems and manage quarterly infant abduction drills.
Provides Root-Cause Analysis of False Infant Abduction alarms and provides trending/reporting as appropriate.
Working knowledge of drawing and blueprint reading.
Properly manage the contracted, budgeted hours of 416 hours per week (total of all officers hours worked weekly).
Working knowledge, to include management, of MCMs Access Control System (WinDSX system).
Conduct records checks with local law enforcement.
Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Must complete and pass all required levels of Eagles Training to include, I.A.H.S.S. Basic and Supervisor for Healthcare Security Officers, and the Defensive Tactics/ Violent Patient Management class.
Starting salary $17.50 to 19.00 per hour.

Serves as a working Commander and must be able to fulfill all of the general duties and responsibilities of a Hospital Security Officer.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Graduated from a standard high school or equivalent, at least 21 years of age, must possess a valid drivers license, good moral and ethical character as determined by a pre-employment background investigation. The successful candidate must be in good physical health and possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form. Must not have been convicted of a crime punishable in a Federal or State prison of institution, nor have been convicted of a sufficient amount of misdemeanors to show a disregard for the law.
