Job Skills / Requirements

The Finance Manager will partner with operational leadership across the Division to identify and report on business trends, operational effectiveness, and financial opportunities. The Finance Manager is responsible for directing operational support, finance and compliance of the Division including contract administration, budgeting, financial statement review, billing and collections, accounts payable and company objectives and policies. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, with strong troubleshooting, business partnering and analytical skills. This role will work closely with operations leadership throughout the organization. Strong project management skills and problem-solving skills are essential to be successful in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Operation Support:

  • Support operations as required in the areas of contract administration, MOPs validation, labor reporting, cost increase proposals, process development & implementation.

Budgeting:

  • Provide timely and accurate analyses of budgets, project proposals and business trends in the multiple administrative areas to assist the Senior executives in performing their responsibilities.

AR and Collections:

  • Collaborate with centralized AR department to ensure timely and accurate customer billing, accounts receivable and collections processes for the division and work closely with Operations and the AR department.

P&L Review and Management:

  • Review all preliminary financial statements and work closely with Operations and the Accounting/Finance departments to resolve issues.

Compliance:

  • Contract Administration/Subcontract
  • Auto fuel program
  • Expense reporting compliance

Process Improvement:

  • Continual improvement of the budgeting and other processes through the education of department managers on budgetary issues impacting their budgets and ongoing departmental performance to the budget.
  • Evaluate the administrative division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.
  • Develop credibility of the finance and administration department in its service levels, level of advisement and overall contribution of insights and expertise to the business.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree- Finance Administration or closely related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience in a finance role supporting business operations
  • Expert-level user of Excel
  • 2-4 years of supervisory experience managing a small team
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities and seeing projects through to completion

Supervisory Responsibility:

Manages a team of 4-6 consisting of individuals who perform duties such as, collections, database setup, contract management, MOP’s validation, etc. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
