Job Skills / Requirements

Role:
The Retail Lender will assist customers with their consumer lending needs including all types of loan products; analyze loan requests and make credit decisions based on lending policy. The Lender will interview customer loan applicants to develop information concerning their loan needs, earnings, and financial condition. The ability to analyze current financial position of customers to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Makes decisions to approve, disapprove, or forward the loan request to higher levels for decision. Explains loan programs to customers, evaluates their needs and recommends loan options. Establishes the terms and conditions of an approved loan and reviews them with the customer. Prepares and/or reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy. It is expected that this employee will follow current loans to ensure compliance with terms and coordinates with collections. Participates in sales development activities. The desired candidate will have excellent customer service skills for relationship sales and a strong desire to produce loans. Previous experience in lending is preferred. NMLS registration is preferred.
 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Interviews customer loan applicants to develop information concerning their loan needs, earnings, and financial condition.
Analyzes current financial position of customers to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money. Makes decision to approve, disapprove, or forward the loan request to higher levels for decision.
Explains loan programs to customers, evaluates their needs and recommends loan options.
Establishes the terms and conditions of an approved loan and reviews them with the customer.
Prepares and/or reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy.
Authorize release of collateral on existing loans, changes in loan terms, waivers of payments, due date change, etc.
Follows current loans to ensure compliance with terms and coordinates with collections.
Participates in sales development activities.
Keeps informed of current trends in consumer credit.
Other duties as assigned.

Employees must be able to pass the following pre screening:

Credit Screening – The credit screening includes a credit history check, financial fitness check, and other non-specified criteria to confirm eligibility for a position. 
 
Background Screening - The background screening process includes a review of all federal and state civil and criminal charges for all locations you have lived at within the last seven years.
 
Drug Testing – The drug test will be a urine test. We check for a number of substances including Marijuana.
 
Employment and Education - The bank may also investigate the employment and education background of an employee. 

Must not be listed on the limited HUD, FHFA or GSA participate list.
