ASC OR Registered Nurse - Full-Time (Ambulatory Surgery Center)

To coordinate and implement quality nursing care for the surgical, endoscopic, or pain management patient in an efficient and safe manner consistent with Standards of Care while meeting the goals of the mission, vision, and values of the unit and JSMC. To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the needs of patients in the pre/intra/postoperative periods. To coordinate patient care needs with team members, anesthesia personnel and surgeons/physicians. To provide a safe environment for patients and team members. To continuously monitor the quality of care delivered to our patients to promote efficacy, appropriateness, availability, timeliness, effectiveness, continuity, safety, and efficiency with respect and care. To role model the philosophy of nursing and support its goals by integrating quality in daily work habits, and treating all customers and peers with respect and consideration. Provides leadership to the JSASC in its day to day operations. Supervises and directs patient care in the OR according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the facility. Coordinates and directs patient care and related activities according to accepted standards and regulatory agency requirements. Shares responsibility for the fiscal activities of the facility. Collaborates with the JSASC Supervisor to ensure cohesiveness within the JSASC. Oversees patient scheduling and flow. Continuously monitors the quality of care delivered to patients to promote efficacy, appropriateness, availability, timeliness, effectiveness, safety, respect, and caring then analyzes and implements quality care improvements. Participates in the development and implementation of hospital policies and procedures. Develops and maintains electronic medical record (EMR) for the JSASC and assists to guide other outpatient areas. Serves as EMR Super User for pertinent modules to include, but not limited to, Operating Room Management, Materials Management, Resource Scheduling, and Clinical Care Stations.

Education Requirements (Any)

Associates Degree in Nursing

Certification Requirements (Any)

BLS Certification - American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) or American Red Cross (Healthcare Provider) required. Must be current.
ACLS Certification preferred.
PALS Certification encouraged

- 2 years of surgical, endo, or PACU experience preferred.

- Must be proficient in venipuncture/IV therapy, experience administering moderate sedation.

- Must have exceptional customer service skills.

- Membership in AORN, ASPAN, SGNA encouraged.
