Overview

JOB SUMMARY The Facilities Management Specialist is based in Jefferson County and is required to travel throughout the service area. The incumbent provides routine maintenance and repair of Jefferson County Clerk's Office (JCCO) property and equipment. The ideal candidate will be reliable, and capable of providing quality work in all JCCO facilities which require the need for basic plumbing and electrical work, HVAC, dry wall repair, painting and other aspects of general building maintenance. The incumbent performs manual work of intermediate difficulty.

Job Skills / Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform repair and maintenance and preventative maintenance activities for the JCCO including replacing defective electrical switches and other fixtures, repairs plaster/dry wall, paints, changes light bulbs and repairs/replaces plumbing fixtures. Take inventory and order office supplies and license plates. Sub-lock plates. Delivers supplies, plates and mail. Answers telephone and assist customers. Acts as a liaison between the JCCO and Metro facilities agents. Operates computer to retrieve and record data on a state-wide system. Sorts, logs, files and retrieves various types of records. Reviews and verifies documents and makes necessary corrections. Corresponds with other agencies and organizations. Operates multiple types of equipment and machines: mail machine, computer, calculator, vehicle, electric drill/driver, saber saw, grinder, air compressor, soldering gun/iron, etc. Performs other duties as assigned by the manager. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be a Kentucky resident. Able to be bonded. Kentucky driver's license. Knowledge of general mechanical and electrical equipment. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance. Ability to communicate, both orally and written. Ability to operate small hand tools. High School education or equivalent. 3-5 years experience in repair and general maintenance. Must possess a valid driver's license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is physical in nature with clerical and data entry responsibilities. It requires some travel. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Work at times requires bending, squatting, reaching, and the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds. The incumbent must be able to work in extreme heat and cold (inclement weather).
