Overview

MonDay is a community based correctional facility that provides a secure treatment environment for probationable felony offenders. MonDay challenges offenders to modify their behavior to become responsible citizens by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral programming.

Job Skills / Requirements

Under general supervision, is responsible for providing mental health assessment and/or treatment for MonDay residents according to established policies and procedures. Assists in creating and fostering an environment conducive to the treatment, operational and administrative goals and mission of the MonDay program. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TREATMENT PROGRAMMING:

  • Assists in planning, developing, and implementing treatment for all residents.
  • Completes required documents for program and ensures that all intake procedures are completed and documented.
  • Participates in treatment program orientation by explaining program goals, objectives, rules, client obligations and rights.
  • Conducts clinical assessments, identifies methods and procedures for obtaining corroborative information, develops diagnostic evaluations and completes treatment plans.
  • Identifies treatment methods and resources to be utilized.
  • Provides individual counseling sessions.
  • Facilitates group sessions.
  • Provides case management services by coordinating with other agencies, resources, and professionals within a planned framework of action toward the achievement of established goals.
  • Responds to crisis situations and uses appropriate crisis intervention techniques.

RELATED PROGRAMMING RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides resident education regarding treatment issues.
  • Refers resident to community resources and assist residents to utilize available systems. Shares the results of assessment and resident case plan with Clinical Staff.
  • Writes reports, progress notes, discharge summaries and other client-related data.
  • Consults with in-house staff or outside professionals to assure comprehensive quality care for the residents.
  • Assists Clinicians in treatment and aftercare planning. May assist the Screening Unit in evaluating a resident’s psychological, social, and physiological signs and symptoms to determine appropriateness for admission.  Performs and monitors case management.

OPERATIONS:

  • Disciplines residents according to policy and procedure, implements and enforces procedure for managing residents.
  • Ensures that all operational documentation is completed, monitors residents, provides transportation, and performs other operational duties.

ADMINISTRATIVE:

  • Participates in team/ staff meetings.
  • Participates in and performs public relations.
  • Collects, prepares, and submits monthly/quarterly/annual statistical reports.

QUALITY ASSURANCE:

  • Participates in the implementation of the quality assurance program for the institution.

Education Requirements (Any)

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work
Masters Degree in Counseling, Social Work or Related Field

Certification Requirements (Any)

LSW, LPC/MFT/LPCC/LISW/IMFT

Additional Information / Benefits

MINIMUM EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  1. Master’s degree in social work or related degree and must have an LPC/MFT/ LPCC/LISW/IMFT licensure, or obtain it within three years of appointment, or have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work with an LSW and at least two years of clinical experience with Diagnostic Assessments and the DSM 5. Prefer work experience with mental health, substance abuse, personality disorders and a familiarity with a correction population desired.
  2. Must maintain licensure requirements of the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board.
  3. Position requires the ability to analyze, plan, and implement effective clinical/chemical dependency programming techniques which may include coaching, counseling, and positive reinforcement acquired through a minimum of three years training and experience.
  4. Familiarity with Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and a working knowledge of 12 step recovery programs. Clinical and chemical dependency assessment skills.  Ability to facilitate groups.
  5. Ability to assess and implement counseling and counseling techniques and case management services for a correctional population.
  6. Ability to interpret and write clinical reports and statistical information.
  7. Interpersonal communication skills requiring courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, social service, criminal justice agencies, and the general public.
  8. Valid State Ohio Driver's License required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Potential exists for exposure to disease/illness.
  2. This is a minimum security facility, therefore, all outside access doors are locked at all times.

Starting base salary is $49,806.33/annually. Experience, education and credentials will be considered in calculating offered salary.
