Establishes and maintains corporate drafting and production standards and processes in accordance with the company’s strategic objectives, vision and mission.
Ensures systems, processes, and tools related to construction documents and estimate production are efficient and operational.
Manages corporate CAD templates and content.
Analyzes requirements, procedures, and opportunities for improvement to automate or improve existing systems, processes, and tools with regards to overall quality and cycle time reduction. .
Establishes, maintains, and provides oversight (audit) of corporate drafting and production quality assurance processes.
Maintains and communicates schedule of project opportunity efforts. Identifies and coordinates availability of internal and external resources for project opportunities to accomplish within project timelines.
Reviews and analyzes business practices, processes, and tools as they apply to and support the department’s continuous improvement goals and strategies (i.e., CAD, database applications, 3D modeling applications, BIM, etc.).
Configures and develops tools (commercial software applications) to optimize operational efficiency, quality, and consistency.
Manages the enhancement and development of internal tool pallets, if applicable.
Develops team coordinated implementation and migration plans for new and upgraded software, both internal and external resources.
Trains internal Associates and third party resources on all CAD, drafting and design standards and processes.
Assist other operational teams in the analysis and development of best practices in construction and computer technologies related to product integration.
Provides product integration support to Estimating Associates as required.
Researches, analyzes, tests, budgets, specifies and maintains corporate standards for department computer workstation configurations, CAD systems and software requirements, plotters, 3D printers, virtual reality solutions, and other technologies within the process steps of producing masters and job specific plans.
Insures proper computer asset management in collaboration with the Information Systems department.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent in related field.
5-years’ minimum experience in AutoCAD/ Architectural Desktop (including current releases), with 1-2 years’ experience managing working drawings production for residential single and multi-family projects.
1-year minimum Architectural CAD system administration experience.
AutoCAD Architecture knowledge with in-depth understanding of set-up and use of project navigator.
Knowledge in drafting production standards development and understanding of BIM concepts.
CD development and construction expertise.
Working knowledge of LAN, WAN, and WEB concepts and capabilities as they pertain to architectural services.
Project management and outsource management expertise.
Broad knowledge of construction/ architectural practices, of multiple construction types, for both single family and multi-family production.
Technical currency with AutoCAD, AutoLISP or Visual LISP, Visual Basic for Applications, AutoCAD scripting, and menu customization.
Strong management development skills along with good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to be a leader in change management.
Ability to demonstrate personal credibility and trustworthiness.
Software Skills – Word, Excel, and ACAD at a minimum. BIM software is a plus.
