Ascertains the factors that will influence the homebuilding industry in general and The Fischer Group in particular and uses that information to direct the annual strategic financial planning of The Fischer Group and its affiliates.
As a member of the Executive Committee, helps formulate major strategic issues. Directs the development of the Annual Plan and Budget. Develops performance measures that support the company's strategic direction and documents results accordingly.
In accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry, maintains executive responsibility for financial operations including working capital (structure, amount, and allocation), capital expenditures, debt levels, taxes, budget, finance (strategic and tactical) and general accounting (statements, reporting and both internal and external audits).
Manages outside lending and equity relationships (Joint Ventures, i.e., financing and documentation), as well as relations with investors and shareholders within the investment community. Optimizes the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position. Ensure that standards for credit facility covenants including debt to equity ratios, interest coverage ratios and others are met.
Studies the market overview, determines volume targets and agrees on a plan for expected volume level and assimilation by Market Presidents.
Identifies financial needs of the organization and its affiliates. Develops and maintains financial sources for the current needs and future expectations of these entities. Monitors performance and plan to ensure the company is on target.
Annually reviews the business and personal income tax reporting of Fischer Homes, its affiliates and shareholders. Minimizes company and personal tax liabilities, i.e., local, state, federal and property, within the context of the law.
Certifies monthly/quarterly bank group reporting and covenant compliance.
Advises other members of Executive Committee on financial, tax, business structure, audit compliance in coordination with The Fischer Group’s outside counsel, tax accountants and auditors.
In the areas of Accounting, Payroll and working primarily through the managers reporting to the position, ensures that new Associates are recruited, hired, trained and compensated in a manner that is consistent with company policy. Ensures The Fischer Group accounting and administrative staffing levels and quality are adequate to meet annual and strategic goals.
Previous experience negotiating, maintaining and communicating a detailed financial roadmap with business stakeholders with dynamic and growing support needs.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MBA preferred.
Professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
10+ years experience in a senior financial managerial position; public accounting experience preferred.
Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.
Exceptional communication skills.

Financial expert with strong business acumen and the ability to learn the Fischer Group business quickly.
Strong communicator who can represent the financial aspects of the organization at the Executive Committee level and provide clarity and transparency from the finance and accounting department to all business stakeholders.
