Job Summary/Purpose
The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting patients to and from Harrison Memorial Hospital and affiliated medical facilities. This role includes maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the transport vehicle, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting patient needs during transit. The driver serves as an important representative of the hospital, promoting a positive patient experience through courteous and dependable service.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
· Transport patients to and from HMH and other designated medical facilities in a safe and timely manner.
· Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the inventory is properly stocked.
· Accurately complete daily driving logs and driver manifests.
· Refuel and maintain transport vehicles according to schedule.
· Assist with completing transport eligibility and request forms.
· Answer transport service phone calls and assist in coordinating driving schedules/routes.
· Provide appropriate support and assistance to patients during loading, unloading, and transit.
· Comply with all safety, confidentiality, and infection control protocols.
· Maintain all required training and certifications relevant to the position.

Required Education
· High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Licensure and Certifications -At Hire

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Valid Kentucky Driver’s License with a clean driving record
· Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
· Must complete the required training and maintain all necessary certifications.
· Ability to work in a busy, loud, and demanding environment.
· Flexible and innovative.
· Familiarity with medical terminology.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience using GPS or routing software

HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT
Certification Requirements (All)
Valid Drivers License, no violations within 3 years
BLS
Driver’s Training, Intellectual and Developmental Disability Awareness Training, HIPAA Training
This job reports to the EMS / Care-A-Van Director
This is a As Needed position Availability between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday..
Travel is not required
