Competencias Laborales / Requisitos

The LIS Technologist will maintain the Lab Information System and will be the primary resource person for LIS related issues or concerns.  Assists with maintaining P&P’s, evaluation of tests, quality control and improvements, and compliance with JC and CAP regulations and standards associated with waived testing and maintaining all records. Cooperates and communicates professionally with the medical and nursing staff, and hospital personnel. Uses technical knowledge to effectively make sound clinical decisions concerning lab issues and to troubleshoot instruments. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of Laboratory experience required
  • Certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) from a national certifying agency
  • Knowledgeable in all areas of lab including send outs, processing, verifying lab results, and instrument interfaces.
  • Works cooperatively and communicates effectively.
  • Follows oral and written instructions.
  • Initiative, accuracy, and judgment needed to determine the needs of the Laboratory.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to make sound clinical decisions based on patient condition and lab results.
  • Computer skills and ability to type.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and work independently.
  • Excellent customer service.
