Job Skills / Requirements

The Nurse Specialist provides nursing services focusing on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health, and maintenance of the health of individuals and populations.  The incumbent works independently, in a variety of settings to include schools, within the agency following the guidelines contained in the current Clinical Service Guide (CSG). Services in the school setting include but are not limited to the following: mandated public health and school health services that includes treatment coverage, vision screenings, immunization consultation, medication and chronic disease training and monitoring, health fairs, Medicaid billing (when applicable), documentation of student visits and data entry.

Education Requirements (Any)

Nursing Diploma, ADN, BSN, Bachelors or Masters in related field

Certification Requirements (Any)

Basic Life Support CPR
Valid Registered Nursing License
