RN Infectious Disease Commnity Health full-time 37.5 hours per week with full comprehensive benefits package. Pay range $31.00-$43.40 per hour. This is a non-exempt nurse position.

The Nurse Specialist provides independent nursing services focusing on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health, and maintenance of the health of individuals and populations. The incumbent works independently within agency guidelines in a variety of settings to provide services. Specifically, the Nurse Specialist provides nursing services focused on identification, control, treatment and prevention of communicable diseases by: administering immunizations; independently providing and/or assisting the clinician in screening and treating patients with sexual transmitted infections; providing direct patient care to vulnerable populations; practicing case management to effectively control sexually transmitted infections or active disease in both clinical and home field based settings as needed; working with a diverse multidisciplinary team to positively impact the health of the community with regards to communicable disease control and prevention.
Nursing Diploma + 5 years of experience, or Associate’s degree (ADN) + 3 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field + 2 years of experience or Master’s degree in nursing or related field + 1 year of experience. Acceptable experience includes prior health department experience, clinical case management, or clinic/hospital (inpatient or outpatient care). Case management experience working with high risk individuals such as substance abuse, mental health or clinical case management. Must be a Registered Nurse with active KY nursing license. Must have current BLS CPR. Must obtain completion of KDPH HIV testing and counseling within 6 months of hire. Complete KDPH/CDC training on sexually transmitted infections and partner services within 1 year of hire.
