Job Skills / Requirements

Hiring 1-full time Social Worker HANDS (Health Access Nurturing Development Services.  $24.80 per hour with full comprehensive benefits package.

Telework options may be available upon successful completion of new hire probation. 

This is a professional level position in the Health Access Nurturing Development Services (HANDS) program.  Peforms work of moderate difficulty in providing weekly home visits to adolescent and adult mothers and/or fathers, and infants.  The Social Worker HANDS support the development of maternal and infant health competence.  Emphasis is on reinforcing the strengths of parents and providing new choices for coping wtih problems.  Services are providing/using the Growing Great Kids curriculum and HANDS state policies to see children live in a healthy and safe home; to oversee that families experience positive pregnancy outcomes and realize improved family self-sufficiency.  Performs client intake surveys and quarterly professional visits.  This position requires flexible schedule that may include some evening hours in order to meet the needs of the families we serve. 

Conducts initial home visit following parent visitor assessment with first-time parents/and or families (eligible voluntary participant) to establish rapport and planning for providing services as qualified by the provider. 

Bachelor's degree in social work or related field and a minimum of 1 year of experience performing case management services, or Master's degree in social work or related field with no experience.  Acceptable experience with child/infant care in a professional capacity; or child health or child development in a professional capacity; family health and wellbeing, or experience teaching infant-toddler parenting classes. 

Must have valid driver's license and state required insurance, as job requires use of personal transportation.  Must have current CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.  Must successfully complete the Family Support Worker 1 training after hiring.
