Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for School Health Deparment; external application deadline is August 1, 2021. This is a part-time, less than 23.0 hours per week position. The pay rate is $18.00 per hour.
The LPN performs specialized work including various technical nursing procedures within scope of practice relating to students in a school setting and public health population-centered activities under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Provides a variety of school health services under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician as follows: Treatment coverage (Diabetics, etc), provides care for sick/injured/chronically ill students within nursing realm, KDE mandated vision screenings for K, 1, 3&5, immunizations consultation, assist RN with case management and follow up, assist wtih referrals, vision screenings for IEP/ARC's communicable disease surveillance, health fairs, health classes, immunization data entry; other school health services within scope of practice.
Must be a graduate of accredited school of practical nursing, with 2 years of relevant experience. One of which must be a LPN. Acceptable experience includes 1 of the following: prior school health pediatric care in a hospital or clinic, ER or urgent care, home health, public agency such as Health Department.
Must be an active current Licensed Practical Nurse in KY, current CPR required, and requires current valid driver's license and use of personal transportation to and from job assignments on a daily basis.
