This is a full time, 40.0 hours per week position, $75,000 annually, exempt, non-merit.

We are currently seeking a Manager of Information Technology to provide leadership and direction on information technology issues for the Health Department. The position performs administrative, supervisory and technical work with overall responsibility for the Department’s management information systems, including maintenance, training, IT purchases and telephone communication systems. Essential duties include: supervise a staff of 3- 4, which involves hiring, training, evaluating, mentoring and performance management * ensure that the Health Department’s information technology systems are developed and maintained to meet current business needs * apply necessary technical skills to planning, problem solving and implementation in day-to-day and long-term operations * serve as liaison between the Health Department, State IT network, and all communications/IT vendors supporting the Health Department * formulate and manage the IT unit’s budget * coordinate and supervise the telecommunication activities including land and cell phones * responsible for specification, purchase and maintenance of all computer hardware and software * ensure excellent customer service to Health Department staff and users .
REQUIREMENTS: Two years supervisory experience required. Bachelor’s degree with course work in data processing, information sciences and five (5) years relevant experience, or a Masters Degree and four (4) years relevant experience. Relevant experience includes a combination of the following: IT systems analysis and design/architecture, electronic data processing, project management, vendor/contract management, installation and operation of data processing hardware and/or software, managing data processing training activities and programs.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Knowledge of the operation and care of personal computer equipment, i.e., desktop, laptop, tablet, and other peripheral computer equipment; good oral and written communication skills; ability to successfully coordinate system development life cycle (SDLC), i.e., planning, development, test, implementation and stabilization; knowledge of mid-range computer hardware and software.

MGRIT: Bachelors or Masters Degree in related field
