Job Skills / Requirements

Responsible for the support of product quality initiatives and guarantees of quality of daily production. Develops and trains lab staff in laboratory procedures to assure quality of NBR and ACM materials. Performs data analysis to determine how to solve product recipe issues and guides the Plant as a technical subject matter expert.
Responsible for all lab activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Conducts audits and reviews / analyzes data and documentation.
Organizes and directs the daily activities of the plant lab
Supervises laboratory personnel, including goal setting, performance reviews, timekeeping, scheduling as needed
Development / training of laboratory technicians to improve testing skills
Develops and implements new lab procedures to improve testing methods
Develops policies and procedures for raw material and product testing and ensures that testing meets both internal established standards and customer standards
Seeks to continuously improve testing equipment and standards
Drive continuous improvement in the KY Plant and assigned toll manufacturers toward world class standards in the following key areas:
- ZCLP elastomer product technology
- ZCLP process control including analytical technology
- Support and implementation of strategic improvement goals and plans for the plant and lab.
As expert in QC/QA for the KY Plant and assigned toll manufacturers, lead plant efforts in the following areas:
- Ensure continued compliance with ISO 9000 for all KY laboratory activities.
- Support investigation of quality and productivity problems and timely implementation of solutions.
- Support of the Plant Manager and KY Plant area production managers in all facets of production activities as required.
- Administration of development and implementation of new procedures for the KY plant lab.
- Ensure disciplined implementation of all facets of the Zeon Quality System.
- Oversight of change management in the KY Plant Lab to ensure disciplined use of best practices to manage all types of changes.
Monitoring adherence to safety procedures to improve safety and 5S performance
Manage development and execution of capital projects as required to support the KY Plant QC Lab mission.
Support and management of Technical Department operating budgets.
Planning and coordination of maintenance activities to support the lab.
Finished product grading and COA’s for KY Plant and assigned toll manufacturers
Raw material grading for KY Plant
Administer other quality system processes as needed including grade change requests, return goods dispositions, SCAR’s, interlaboratory crosschecking

Bachelors in Chemistry
