Job Skills / Requirements

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold the mission of the YMCA, and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature
  • Serves as a role model and advocate of the YMCA mission, Promise, Values and Voice
  • Develop marketing materials for the branch, job fairs with the goal of attracting a pool of qualified and diverse candidates that reflect the local branch communities
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials for openings
  • Develop strategies to market all YMCA job openings in new and different ways with the goal of attracting enough qualified candidates to fully staff the Northeast Branch
  • Explore internship opportunities with local Colleges and University
  • Develop a relationship with High Schools, Colleges and any group that may assist in recruitment
  • Maintain a relationship with local resources supporting recruitment efforts
  • Assist with the development of referral, retention and on boarding of all new staff
  • Conduct initial interviews to screen candidates (phone, face to face, group)
  • Review and track all online applicants on the current YMCA Louisville Works site and make sure all applications are reviewed and distributed to the proper YMCA department for follow up

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong Commitment to YMCA Philosophy & Mission
  • Experience in staff recruitment required
  • Bachelors or Associate Degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent time management, organization, and planning skills
  • Proficient computer software skills, social media expertise
  • Creative, innovative self-starter able to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
  • Completes required abuse risk management training. Adheres to policies and procedures related to appropriate boundaries with children. Monitors building, staff and members and reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations to supervisor.   Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements to authorities.

  • Recruitment efforts result in new partnerships and relations leading to new opportunities for recruiting qualified staff.
  • Evidence that recruitment efforts provide candidates that are nurturing and genuine and have a passion for working with children and families.
  • Increased number of qualified applicants.

  • Quality of programs and services increase as a result of the staff recruited

STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

STARTING SALARY:  $14.50/Hour

Education Requirements (Any)

Experience in staff recruitment required
Bachelors or Associate Degree preferred
