Job Skills / Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum age of 18
• Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values
• People centered, service oriented
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Previous member service experience preferred

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Uphold the Mission of the YMCA
• Maintain all required certifications
• Take complete responsibility for scheduled hours and, if necessary, follow the appropriate substitute procedures and cover shifts when necessary
• Assist in pool safety and cleanliness
• Check in members and guests to Calypso Cove
• Handle member/guests inquiries and complaints, involving Directors when necessary
• Responsibly handle cash and credit card transactions and bank balancing
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required by the Membership Director

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to remain alert
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Adequate ability to hear noises and distinguish distress signals
• Ability to communicate verbally, including projecting voice across distance in normal and loud situations
• Work in a wet/humid environment
• Exposure to outdoor elements
• Ability to lift 25 pound
• Noise and activity level-High

STATUS: part-time, non-exempt

SALARY RANGE: $11/hour
