Job Skills / Requirements

POSITION PREFERENCES & FUNCTIONS:

  • Preferred Age: 21+
  • Design and implement CIT Program Curriculum
  • Coach participants in regards to professionality, working with children and being a steward of camp
  • Reside in cabin with program participants
  • Evaluate CIT participant progress for volunteer and staffing considerations
  • Regularly communicate with Program Director about program and participant progress and needs
  • Work over the weekend as required by CIT Program Schedule
  • Fill in as a Camp Counselor when outside of program weeks
  • Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values
  • Ensure the emotional, mental, and physical safety of all participants
  • Complete required paperwork in timely manner
  • Work in tandem with other camp staff to create a safe and welcoming experience for all
  • Effectively manage camper behavior and homesickness
  • Inform leadership staff of any camper or staff concerns
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision
  • Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills
  • Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of YMCA Camp Piomingo
  • Other duties as assigned

STATUS: Part-time; Non-exempt, Seasonal

STARTING SALARY:  $450+/week (DOE)
